Federal Funding

UNCG faculty are encouraged to actively seek out external funding to support their scientific research, scholarly activities and educational needs.  A good place to start your search for federal funding is Grants.gov. This tool is a one-stop shop that includes all federal funding opportunities and assists eligible applicants with application submission to the following 26 federal agencies:

Foundation Funding

Interested in seeking foundation support for your project? Below are some foundations to consider. Remember, just like federal agencies, foundations have specific areas of interest. Read each website to see if your project is a fit. If you’re not sure, contact your OSP Grants Specialist and we can help investigate using tax returns for the foundation. As always, you can search for more options using SPIN.

Before you contact a founder, begin an online application, or create an account, please contact OSP.

Sometimes local foundations are the most challenging, but if you are a good fit and can make a personal connection with a board or staff member through the process, then they can be an invaluable source of programmatic and financial support.

Remember, before you make contact with a foundation, visit our “Foundation Applications ” page and contact your OSP Grants Specialist.
